Chetana – IISc’s outreach programme

Chetana Program is run by the Dept. of IT and BT, Government of Karnataka. The program is aimed at empowering school girls by exposing them to latest technology and their application, primarily to encourage them to take a career in Science and Technology. IISc is partnering in this event for the second consecutive year, by hosting the winter school between December 15 and 22, 2017. The Chetana Scholars are SSLC toppers from Govt High Schools from rural and semi-urban background, currently in Class XI and XII.

This year’s events include spending a half-day in various Departments of IISc including Biological Sciences, Physics, Aerospace, CeNSE, CPDM, CEaS, Material Engineering, CDS, SERC and Undergraduate Studies. The Chetana Scholars will be exposed to the latest in Science and Technology through a combination of lectures, laboratory visits, and demonstrations.
