Wing Commander Venkata Rao Pilaka (Retd) joins as Financial Controller at IISc.

IISc Bengaluru welcomes Wing Commander Venkata Rao Pilaka (Retd) as its new Financial Controller.

A seasoned finance professional, he served for nearly 24 years (1996-2020) in the Accounts Branch of the Indian Air Force, gaining extensive experience in payroll management, budgetary management, audit, capital and operational expenditure and financial governance.  During his tenure, he was a member of the Pricing Policy Review Committee (PPRC) for Defence PSUs, helping the Government save over Rs.3000/- crore. Further, as Joint Director (Finance), he played a key role in establishing a state-of-the-art Defence Satellite Control Centre.  He has also held senior leadership roles at Siemens, Deloitte USI and Amazon before joining IISc.

Wg Cdr Venkata Rao Pilaka (Retd) holds a Commerce degree and an MBA in Finance from Andhra University, is a Fellow of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India and an alumnus of Indian Institute of Management – Ahmedabad.
