Founder’s Day March 3rd 2021

The founder of IISc, Jamsetji Nusserwanji Tata, was born on 3 March 1839 in Navsari, Gujarat. As a tribute to his munificence and vision, the Institute celebrates 3 March of each year as Founder’s Day. A flower show is kept on display around the Tata statue, which was designed by the British sculptor Gilbert Bayes and inaugurated in the year 1922.

The Founder’s Day -2021 will be celebrated on 3rd March 2021 at 8.30 a.m. in front of the Main Building of the Institute.

The Chairs, Heads of the Departments / Sections / Laboratories / Units / Centres, Staff and Students are requested to attend the celebration through online mode. Live streaming of the program will be done through social media platforms.
