IISc Lecture Notes Series
The IISc Lecture Notes Series (ILNS) of the IIScPress aims to fulfill an important need in higher education in science and engineering, particularly in India. IISc, known for its quality post-graduate education programmes, intends to makes its lecture notes available to students at large in India and abroad. These books will be authored by distinguished educators within and outside IISc. The books in this series have an appealing format for self-learning as well as for use in classroom teaching. The topics in this series encompass basic subjects that need continual upgrading in today’s fast-moving science and engineering frontiers. The series will also contain books in the emerging areas to make them accessible to students and teachers.
