He is a Professor in the Department of Microbiology and Cell Biology (MCB), and the Centre for Infectious Disease Research (CIDR). Prof Singh has made outstanding contributions to our fundamental understanding of host-pathogen interactions underlying infections caused by global pathogens, Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb), and the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV). His work has led to an understanding of the intricate connection forged between redox metabolism, bioenergetics, and persistence in human pathogens.
