Defining Product Development: The India Way


Product development – Japanese way is known in the world for its emphasis on taking an existing successful product by making it better for customers. Chinese manufacturing is a practice that international businesses have recognized as an essential asset to reducing prices for their products. It’s utilized by some of the most prominent brands and it has become a staple to successful manufacturing.

As India is takes off on product development in a big way, it is necessary to survey these methodologies and propose the best way, considering our strengths in VLSI designs, software and services. This webinar aims to discuss good practices of these

two and tries to define the best for India. Since the adoption of the best practices depends on industry, it is proposed to focus on IoT, IoMT and VLSI approach to MedTech product development.

Veena S Chakravarthi is a Bangalore-based technologist, system-on-chip architect and educator. Over a career spanning three-decades, she has spawned off several VLSI Designs & Incubation centres and managed several high-performance tech-teams at

ITI Limited and across various MNCs like Mindtree Consulting Pvt. Ltd., Centillium India Pvt. Ltd. Transwitch India Pvt. Ltd., Ikanos Communications Pvt. Ltd., Pereira Ventures, Asarva Chips and Technologies, Saankhya Labs and Prodigy Technovations

Pvt. Ltd. She has co-founded Sensesemi Technologies Pvt. Ltd., a healthcare company. She has been the Research Head and Adjunct Professor in the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, Bangalore. She also holds a PhD in Low power VLSI design from Bangalore University and an executive management for Technologists certification from IIM Bangalore. She has filed five patents for Sensesemi and two for BNMIT in VLSI and Healthcare domains. She is the author of the books “A Practical Approach to VLSI System on Chip (SoC) Design” published in 2019 by Springer Nature and “IOT and M2M communication technologies” which will

be published soon. She is senior IEEE Member.
