IISc has done extremely well in the Simon Marais Mathematical Competition 2018

The Indian Institute of Science entered the Simon Marais Mathematical Competition for the very first time in 2018, and has done extremely well. The competition is held all across the Asia-Pacific region annually. The highlights of the performance of the Institute are (also see https://www.simonmarais.org/20182.html ):

1) Won 2nd place among all competing institutions.

2) A student from IISc stood 7th (among 891 student contestants from the Asia-Pacific region) in the individual rankings.

3) The IISc won first place among teams appearing from India in both the individual and pairs competitions.
