Dear all,
Due to surge in the number of motorized vehiclesā movement in IISc campus and increase in number of accidents, IISc has been taking initiatives to encourage alternate greener modes of transport inside campusĀ like PEDL smart cycle sharing system. In continuation of these efforts, Institute intends to explore possibility of introducing E-Rickshaw services in near future for in-campus movement of IISc community andĀ visitors.
In this regard, a trial run with three E-rickshaw vehicles has been planned for 3-days during 8th March to 10th March 2018, on three identified routes in the campus. Director, IISc will formally inaugurateĀ the trail run of E-Rickshaws near main building at 10 am on 8th March 2018. During the trial period, one e-rickshaw each (capacity: 4 passengers) will run on each route with an expected frequency of 30-35Ā minutes from 10:30 am to 6 pm on 8th March and from 9:00 am to 6 pm on 9th and 10th March 2018, with a break of 45 minutes in-between during 1:30 pm to 2:15 pm on each day. The E-Rickshaw service during thisĀ 3-day trial period will be provided free of cost with boarding and alighting on any point on these three routes.
