Lecture by Dr Narayanachar Dhananjay in Seminar Hall, RBCCPS, @ 11am

Location: Seminar Hall, RBCCPS

Title of the lecture: Guidance and control of aerospace vehicles

Description: In this talk I will discuss about the guidance and control algorithms applied for the autonomous operation of aerospace vehicles. Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) are gaining importance due to their widespread application in areas like search and rescue, surveillance, autonomous landing, indoor navigation, cooperative missions etc. This talk will focus on the following problems:

1. Cooperative radar deception by a group of UAVs
2. Path planning using Voronoi diagrams
3. Autonomous landing of a Quadrotor
4. UAV search using gradient descent algorithm
5. UAV localization

Some of the theoretical aspects will be discussed and simulation and experimental results on available hardware platforms will be presented.

About the speaker:
Dr Narayanachar Dhananjay received his PhD in Aerospace Engineering from IISc in 2008. He worked as Associate and Research Scientist at Temasek Laboratories, National University of Singapore for two years. After a research stay at Narvik University College, Norway (now Arctic University, Narvik) he returned to IISc in 2011. In 2014 he joined Uurmi Systems as Senior Engineer.
