Tarun Kumar, a Ph.D. student working under Prof. Monto Mani at Centre for Product Design and Manufacturing (CPDM), has been selected for the prestigious Building Energy Efficiency Higher & Advanced Network (BHAVAN) Fellowship Program supported jointly by the Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of India, and the Indo-U.S. Science and Technology Forum (IUSSTF). He would be furthering his research with Prof. Ravi Srinivasan at the M.E. Rinker, Sr. School of Construction Management in the College of Design, Construction and Planning, UF (University of Florida) for 6 months, to integrate smart sensors (as products) in intelligent buildings considering energy neutrality over the whole life-cycle of the building-sensor system. It is a highly interdisciplinary area integrating smart buildings and product design.
