IISc has initiated India’s first Smart Factory Lab in 2014, which is currently being expanded into a Central Engineering Facility Centre (CEFC) in the area of Industry 4.0 under the Samarth Udyog Programme of the Department of Heavy Industries (DHI), GoI. The programme involves creating a demonstration platform for smart factory that integrates all state of the art technologies. Under this programme, the CEFC invites applications from individuals for the following two Positions:
1. CEFC Programme Manager
The Programme Manager will directly report to the CEFC Management Committee (MC) and will be responsible for the following:
A. CEFC Programme and Project Management
” Identification of projects and preparation of project plans in coordination faculty teams
” Project planning, monitoring, and execution
” Preparation of programme and project progress reports for DHI and internal reviews
B. CEFC Facility Procurement and Management
” Procurement of equipment, including vendor discussion, negotiation etc., with inputs from faculty and in coordination with MC
” Recruitment and management of staff members for the projects within the programme
” Programme management for creation of demonstrable platform
” Planning, installation and regular maintenance of the factory including these equipment.
For this position, we are looking for a person with a technical background and relevant substantial management experience in industry. Salary will be commensurate with background and experience, within GoI norms. The position will be initially for one year, extendable for another year or more, based on performance. The minimum qualification is graduation in an engineering discipline, a desirable postgraduate qualification in management, and at least 5 years of relevant industry experience.
2. CEFC Administrator
The CEFC Administrator will directly report to the CEFC Programme Manager and will be responsible for the following:
A. Handling Visitors, Managing engagement with Startups and visitors, and administering Training/Awareness Programmes
” Handling visits of industry partner teams
” Develop and run training and awareness programmes for I4.0 based on CEFC
” Connect with potential startups
For this position, we are looking for a person with outstanding inter-personal skills who enjoys interacting with academia, industry and young entrepreneurs, and is comfortable planning and executing training and awareness initiatives. The minimum qualification is an undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline, and at least three years’ experience in conducting similar activities. Salary will be commensurate with background and experience, within GoI norms. The position will be initially for one year, extendable for another year or more, based on performance.
