 Abstract:

The challenges in availability of oxygen supplies in remote places and overwhelming situation raises in hospitals due to COVID-19 pandemic.  Here, we have developed a low-cost oxygen concentrator system which was designed and fabricate using indigenous components.  Generation and availability of oxygen source at point-of-care, where cylinders and other centrally distributed systems are unavailable is very important.  Even if oxygen supplies are available at the hospitals, because of overcrowding as a result of pandemic situation will create stress on the system.  In addition, not all patients require complete ventilator systems, some require just health vital monitoring and supply of oxygen at various percentages.  Having a reliable oxygen supply is necessary for the care of these kinds of patients to improve the probability of survival during such a pandemic outbreak. In this talk, I will take you through the process of design, conceptualization, fabrication and product engineering of the system.
