My Literary Journey

Abstract: Jayant Kaikini is a distinguished Kannada poet, short story writer, columnist, and playwright, as well as a reputed lyricist and scriptwriter in the film industry. He is valued as one of the eminent writers in Kannada literature and has revolutionized the field by giving it a fresh new perspective. He is the recipient of notable awards like the ‘Karnataka Sahitya Academy’ award(1974,1982,1989,1996), Kusumagraj National Literary Award (2010), Katha Award for Creative Fiction (1996), DSC South Asian Literature Prize (2018), among others. He has been conferred the honorary doctorate from Tumkur University.

In this talk, he will share his journey into the world of literature.
