IISc student receives “Excellence in Physics – Distinguished Student Award 2026”

Congratulations to Sneha Chaudhary on receiving the “Excellence in Physics – Distinguished Student Award” from the Forum on International Physics of the American Physical Society!

Sneha is a PhD candidate at the Department of Instrumentation and Applied Physics at the Indian Institute of Science, working under the guidance of Prof. Sanjiv Sambandan.

The award was formally presented at the Forum on International Physics reception during the APS Global Physics Summit 2026, Denver, Colorado, USA. At the conference, Sneha presented her work titled “Organic Thin Film Transistors for Sustainable Electronics.” Her research demonstrates the modeling, design and fabrication of organic thin-film transistors (OTFTs) on biodegradable cellulose acetate substrates while maintaining strong device performance.

Her work advances the development of biodegradable electronic devices for applications in environment monitoring and healthcare, where electronics safely degrade after use. By integrating sustainability and end-of-life considerations into device design, her research contributes to the advancement of eco-friendly and circular electronic technologies.
