Prof. D. N. Rao, Dept. of Biochemistry, is organising DBT Workshop on “Genome Enginnering” from June 24-29, 2018
DBT Workshop on Genome Engineering
June 24-29, 2018
Dept. of Biochemistry, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore.
About the workshop: The workshop is ideal for basic and translational research scientists who want to apply genome engineering technologies – ZFNs, TALENs and CRISPR/Cas9 – to their research projects.
The workshop is also designed to provide the participants with hands-on training on genome editing of human cells using NHEJ (knocking-out a gene) and HDR (knocking-in a gene and correction of a gene). With the completion of the course, the participants will be familiar with the basics of genome editing, will be able to design sgRNA for their gene of interest and perform cell culture genome editing experiments using CRISPR/Cas9.
