IISc has emerged as the Indian institute with the largest number of top scientists in diverse fields in a global database of 100,000 scientists from around the world, according to a study published in
PLOS Biology, a peer-reviewed journal. The database provides standardised information on citations, h-index, co-authorship-adjusted hm-index, citations to papers in different authorship positions, and a composite index. IISc appears at the no. 1 position in India and 353rd globally, with 94 scientists in the list.
