Margadarshi Fellowship to Prof. Sandhya S. Visweswariah

Prof. Sandhya S. Visweswariah, Professor, MRDG and Co-chair, BioSystems Science and Engineering, is awarded the prestigious  Margadarshi Fellowship by the Wellcome Trust DBT India Alliance. As per the vision of this programme, “the Margadarshi Fellowship scheme provides a unique opportunity to visionary biomedical scientists to lead and nucleate a cutting edge research programme in India in collaboration with Indian Host Institution(s).” Prof. Visweswariah envisions a Medical Research Hub to be established in the Center for BioSystems Science and Engineering in IISc to facilitate strong interactions with clinicians and clinical institutions. Collaboration with clinicians at the Christian Medical College-Vellore is a significant component of her proposed work under this fellowship programme.
