National workshop on Low-carbon construction materials and “green” building architecture

The workshop, jointly hosted by Centre for Sustainable Technologies at Indian Institute of Science (IISc) and Verdant Building Alternatives (OPC) Pvt. Ltd., is aimed at disseminating academic and industry progress in several areas of sustainable built environment, including low-carbon building materials, carbon capture and sequestration, 3D printing of cementitious construction materials, green building concepts, renewable energy for buildings and climate responsive architecture. The workshop will be held at IISc Challakere campus.

The workshop will feature lectures by industry experts and faculties from

IISc and overseas, which are designed to inform the participants of the state-of-the-art in research and application fronts. Workshop attendees will be offered a guided tour of the campus buildings where they can experience several examples of low-carbon material implementation, climate responsive building systems and design.

The program is meant for final year undergraduate students, post-graduate students, practicing engineers and architects and building professionals. Certificate will be given to participants from Indian Institute of Science. Accommodation, two-way transport (from IISc Bangalore to Challakere campus) and food would be arranged by IISc.
