PARASPAR
Invites you to a lecture on
Being Digital and Gandhian
In a rapidly digitizing world, the age-old wisdom and principles of Mahatma Gandhi, one of the great moral and political leaders of the 20th century, can still guide and inspire us. Gandhiji’s ideologies, encompassing non-violence, truth, equality, and sustainability, continue to resonate in the context of digital science. His Talisman serves as a moral compass that encourages us to align our actions with the needs of the most vulnerable and marginalized sections of society.
This talk explores how Gandhian values could direct an academic, research and translational career in digital technology, focusing on applications that resonate with these eternal principles. The speaker’s experiences in addressing the digital divide (Bangalore Declaration and the Simputer Project) and in democratizing genomics will provide case studies of how this juxtaposition plays out.
