PARASPAR
Invites you to a lecture on
Telling Book-Length Stories
Abstract: For storytellers, finding ideas for stories that can span a book is a challenge. In this talk, Anil will talk about the process behind each of his four books–The Edge of Physics (cosmology and astrophysics), The Man Who Wasn’t There (neuroscience, neuropsychology and philosophy of mind), Through Two Doors at Once (quantum physics) and Why Machines Learn (mathematics of modern artificial intelligence). Where did the ideas come from? What made the stories capable of filling a book? For each book, he will briefly talk about the reporting, writing and editing involved to bring the ideas to fruition.
