Summer School in Optics And Photonics (SOAP) 2019

The registration for the 3rd Summer School in Optics and Photonics on 17-21 June 2019 is now open and we cordially invite you to join us! Venue is MP Auditorium, ECE Department.

Summer school in Optics And Photonics-(SOAP) 2019 is organised by Applied Photonics Initiative- IISc, for graduate students, research scholars, post docs and faculty interested in the area of optics and photonics. The school will bring together experts in the field from India and abroad and provide a platform for interaction and networking. The program consists of invited talks, lab visits, industry interaction & demos, student posters (optionally the participants may showcase their research in the form of poster) and Open invited lectures.

The focus areas will be:

1. Quantum Optics Communications
2. Silicon Photonics & Biophotonics
3. Lasers and Light-Matter Physics
4. Optical Communication/Networks
5. Career Guidance/ Industry Interaction

The confirmed list of speakers includes: Claude Fabre (Sorbonne Université), David M Giltner (TurningScience), Bishnu P Pal (Mahindra Ecole Centrale, Hyderabad), Rajappa Papanna Reddy (Purdue University), Shankar K Selvaraja (IISc), Supradeepa V.R (IISc), Reji Philip (RRI Bangalore), N Sujatha (IIT Madras), Shanti Bhattacharya (IIT Madras) and Amol Choudhary (IIT Delhi)

The registration fee is Rs. 8,000 (Industry), Rs. 7,000 (Regular-Faculty/Postdoc) and Rs. 5000 (Student). Deadline for registering is 5 June 2019.
